Industrial Sustainability
LOWER IMPACT.
We integrate renewable generation, energy efficiency, plant modernisation, emissions reduction and material recovery to advance towards a more efficient industrial operation with a lower environmental impact.
Four areas of action
Renewable Energy
Integrating electricity generation through solar energy into our industrial operations is part of the evolution of our facilities towards a more efficient energy model. The quarry has a photovoltaic installation designed to incorporate renewable generation into daily activities.

Energy Efficiency
Circular Economy
We recover materials and reintroduce resources into the productive cycle to reduce waste, extend useful life and make better use of available raw materials. Circular economy is one of the distinguishing features of CUTILLAS INDUSTRIAL GROUP.
Process 01
FROM WASTE MATERIAL TO A NEW POSSIBILITY
Through crushing and treatment processes, waste concrete can be transformed into material suitable for new use when its characteristics and the intended application permit.
Source of material
PEÑA DE LA ZAFRA
FORTUNA · MURCIA
Process 02
NEW FRACTIONS FROM THE MATERIAL.
We process marble waste from Peña de la Zafra, Fortuna (Murcia), through crushing and classification to obtain new mineral fractions.
Mobile Capacity
Mobile crushing capacity allows the processing operation to be relocated to where the material is or where the project requires it, facilitating recovery processes close to the source of material.

Impact and Emissions Reduction
Reducing the impact of our operations requires action across different areas: energy, machinery, transport, processes and material recovery. We are incorporating renewable generation, hybrid machinery, vehicles with emissions reduction systems and circular economy solutions to advance towards an increasingly efficient industrial operation with lower environmental impact.
We use vehicles fitted with nitrogen oxide (NOₓ) reduction systems using urea/AdBlue, both in quarry operations and road transport. This technology contributes to reducing pollutant emissions from diesel engines.
The progressive incorporation of hybrid machinery allows us to advance towards more efficient equipment and optimise energy consumption in certain industrial operations, reducing the impact associated with each work cycle.
The photovoltaic installation at the quarry progressively reduces dependence on conventional energy sources for certain consumption in our industrial activities.
Process optimisation, facility improvements and logistical organisation contribute to reducing resource consumption and the impact associated with each unit of production.
The reuse and recovery of materials reduces waste generation, makes better use of available resources and decreases the need for additional raw materials where the material's characteristics permit.
The company maintains a commitment to the progressive reduction of its carbon footprint, through continuous process improvement and the transition to more efficient solutions.
Selective catalytic reduction (SCR) systems with urea/AdBlue act primarily on the reduction of nitrogen oxides (NOₓ) in diesel engine exhaust gases, contributing to reduced pollutant emissions in accordance with applicable Euro standards.
Emissions Management
Áridos Cutillas Espinosa, S.L. has a documented procedure for measuring its carbon footprint and defining emissions reduction plans within the scope currently covered by its management system.
The documented scope covers the manufacture of fresh concrete and mortar at the Fortuna plant and the central offices located in Fortuna.
Monitoring of emissions associated with fuel consumption and fugitive emissions from refrigerant gases.
Monitoring of indirect emissions associated with electricity consumption.
Periodic collection and review of activity data, use of official emission factors and definition of reduction plans with targets and improvement measures.
The calculation procedure is based on UNE-EN ISO 14064-1:2019 and emission factors published by the Spanish Ministry for Ecological Transition and Demographic Challenge (MITECO).
Documented Commitment
Continuous improvement also means understanding, analysing and progressively reducing the impact of our activities. This commitment is part of the industrial evolution of CUTILLAS.
